Approximately 40 years ago a group of seven young black men met on weekends or whenever they had time to get together to spend time fishing and enjoying each other’s company, whether in a boat or on land. After years of doing this, Charles Johnson, Raymond Goodwill, William "Bill" Carter, Matthew Huntley, William Marshall, Joseph Boucree, and Dennis A. Renear decided to form a fishing Club. This Club came to be known as The Hook, Line and Sinker Fishing Club, formed to promote camaraderie between fishermen, women and children. The club they formed was and still is of such high morale caliber that you would be proud to invite your mother or grandmother to fish with us.
